Following the success of the Phyto-Lip Twist, Sisley now introduces the new collection of XL waterproof eye pencils. These deep magnetic colors outline, transform and make eyes stand out with just a single stroke. The new Phyto-Eye Twist ($50) are a hybrid of eye pencil and eyeshadow in one. I previewed these gorgeous pencils back in January with the Sisley team and have been obsessed with them ever since. Let me first discuss the highlights of these new pencils:
* Waterproof and long- lasting formula
* Smoothing formula and imperceptible texture
* Self- sharpening pencil allows one to outline like a pencil or filled in like an eyeshadow
They come in eight shades that range from khaki and brown to peacock blue. I was fortunate enough to receive six of the eight shades (#2-6) and I was literally drooling as I was swatching each one of them. Here are the shades they come in:
#1 Topaze-pink, golden brown
#2 Bronze-a grey-green with a touch of gold
#3 Khaki-khaki green
#4 Steel-a starry steel grey
#5 Lagoon-captivating peacock blue
#6 Marine-a deep, multi-faceted indigo
#7 Havana-an intense coppery mahogany
#8 Black Diamond-an intense, ultra black
I was instantly drawn to shade #6, a smoky blue shade, to use as an accent to my everyday smoky brown/plum eye. First of all, I love that I don’t have to sharpen these pencils but simply twist them to get more product. This makes them ideal for traveling which is a big plus for me. Thanks to Green Tea Leaf, White Lily Petals and Camelia oil, these pencils are smooth and emollient and glide on effortlessly. You can build on them by layering to create a more intense eye look. These pencils did start fading slightly after a few hours but it didn’t budge or smear. The pigment on these pencils are impressive which makes them ideal for the warm summer months ahead. When I went to remove the swatches on my arm with Bioderma eye make-up remover, it took more work then I anticipated and still left a stain hours later. This is good news for anyone looking for eye makeup that stays in place and has a great selection of colors.
Verdict? They are pricey but these are luxury all the way. The deliver what they promise which justifies the price. If you were going to get only one, I would get either the black (#8) or marine (#6). I warn you, these are addicting so I suspect one pencil will not be enough. These are a winner for me.
