Fashion Design house Marni has introduced a new perfume to their range, which they’ve naturally named “Marni.” Designer Consuelo Castiglioni likes to play with “classic elements, getting unexpected results through subtle edit of proportions, colors, prints and materials,” and this this fragrance is a reflection of her “classics with unexpected ways.” The glass bottle boasts polka dots, black lining on the rim and a red cap, making it an attention grabber that accurately represents the designers’ aesthetic.
As much as I love fragrance (let’s face it, I own enough bottles to open my own perfume boutique!), I still gravitate towards three go-to scents that reflect my lifestyle, taste and mood. Every now and then though, someone will pass by me in a department store, restaurant or on the street wearing a fragrance that catches my attention. Recently, my sister-in-law was visiting and had on Marni’s new fragrance. I found it both intoxicating and mood enhancing, and was sold before I even knew what fragrance she had on—this only happens once in a blue moon!
Here are the notes in the Marni fragrance:
Top: Mint Nanah, Cardamon Oil, Bitter Almond and Cassis
Heart: Raspberry, Rose Oil Bugaria, Rose Absolute and Violet
Bottom: Patchouli, Cedarwood and Musk
Rose and Musk were the first two notes that I picked up on when I first sprayed the fragrance on my wrist. These are two notes that I was initially attracted to when I smelled it on my sister-in-law too. It stayed on for hours and eventually faded into a soft musk smell that was absolutely beautiful.
Verdict? Marni designs are classic and whimsical and their new fragrance is nothing short of that. It makes a statement, can be worn during all four seasons and the notes work in harmony to create a very unique smell. I have added this to my group of “essential perfumes” and am thrilled to have it part of my collection. Have you tried the new Marni fragrance? What did you think of it? I would love to hear your thoughts.
