We all have those days when our skin needs extra protection and TLC especially during the cold, winter months. La Prairie has managed to treat, protect and enhance your complexion with their Anti-Aging Hydra Tint Cream SPF 20 ( 40 ml/1.4 fl. oz $100). This is not a new product for La Prairie but one that deserves recognition and a reminder that they are more then just a sophisticated skin care line.
This tinted moisturizer comes in four shades ranging from very light beige (shade 10) to medium/dark beige (shade 40) but blends beautifully thanks to the mineral-infused color and illuminating pigments for natural looking color and sheer coverage that disguise imperfections. In addition to protecting your skin with UV rays and age spots, it also opens moisture pathways to the skin to increase hydration. For me, both shades 20 and 30 blend well with my skin with shade 20 being a tad bit too light and 30 a tad bit too pink but not enough to be noticeable. Because it is so sheer, getting a perfect color match isn’t very stressful yet still melts into the skin and leaves a natural glow with a hint of color. It comes in a convenient squeeze bottle which makes this ideal for traveling or in your makeup bag for post-workouts at gym or touch-ups during the day. For best results, it is ideal to keep the bottle standing straight.
I only had to squeeze one time to get a pea-size amount and it was just enough to cover entire face. Keep in mind, this doesn’t provide a lot of coverage so if you feel you need more, I recommend you use a mineral powder or powder foundation to give you that extra layer you need. I used Eve Lom mineral powder and it worked great. I use this tinted moisturizer for working out or when I feel my skin looks “good” and needs very minimal coverage. I don’t recommend it for anyone looking for medium to full coverage as this is more of a skin treatment and light foundation hybrid. It lasted all day and felt really good on my skin.
Verdict? What is there not to like about this tinted moisturizer besides the price? It hydrates, protects and leaves a beautiful and natural glow. La Prairie really does make exceptional products and they define luxury all the way so this product doesn’t disappoint. As always, I recommend you get a sample and wear it a few days to see if it is right for you. Have your tried Hydra Tint from La Prairie? I would love to hear your thoughts.
