I want to begin by saying I adore oils for the skin from face to body to hair…I love oils!!! I always
want to have a dewy well hydrated look and I feel oils are the only way for me to achieve this.
The very first oil based product I used on my face was glycerin oil from the drug store when I was 18 years old. I loved how shiny my skin looked (looking back I looked greasy and unnatural)and would
slather it on every night thinking this was my first beauty secret I discovered and wont share with anyone. Well lets fast forward a few decades and my regime is unfortunately more expensive but better for my skin type.
When I owned my cosmetics boutique I carried a wonderful line called “Decleor” which is a plant based aromatherapy skin care line. Decleor along with Darphin and Clarins all carried face oils that were amazing and targeted different skin types. The Decleor rep at the time explained to me what makes one face oil better than the other. She said oils have to be heated up to a certain level of temperature which is a very tedious and tricky process. Its easy to overheat so the experts know what temperature to stop at for the most maximum results. If its under heated it tends to sit on the skin without penetrating properly and if its over heated it will evaporate and negate the purpose of what you want to achieve.
They had four oils for different types of skin from oily to mature skin.
The purpose of using face oils are to attract moisture in the air and help the moisturizer you apply afterwards to sink better in the skin. My customers would rave at how wonderful their skin looked after using it for a short while.
Lets move on to what oils I have tried and really loved. Like I mentioned before Decleor neroli oil was my go to product for 10 straight years until I was ready to see what the market out there had to offer.
It seems the Europeans are the main manufacturers since they believe oil is essential to daily skincare and maintenance. I will be reviewing different oils in the next few weeks and will conclude which seemed to produce the best results. I agree that not all women need them especially if you are super oily but it never hurts to to explore and venture out and see what you can possibly discover could be a great addition to your skin care routine.
I look forward to hearing from all of you which oils you have discovered and have really enjoyed.
They don’t have to cost a fortune to work but I honestly haven’t found any health food ones that I have enjoyed but would like to know if you have.
Looking forward to sharing my opinions with all of you so look for reviews soon.
