Diorskin Nude Air Glow Powders for Summer 2016 ($56) have recently launched in two very pretty shades. Dior wanted to expand their range in the nude makeup expertise and created these weightless and luminous powders described as beneficial as a “breath of fresh air.” These limited-edition powders come in two shades; 002 Fresh Light, a mix of tans and soft pinks and 001 Fresh Tan that has corals and deeper bronze. I decided to go for Fresh Tan 001 for my light-medium olive skin as the colors seemed more intense and exotic. Keep in mind, I am still using and loving Diorskin Nude Shimmer in Amber which is holy grail material. Let us take a closer look at these gorgeous compact:
The powder is housed in the always glamorous Dior silver compact and has the word “NUDE” embossed with light, shimmery nude colors running through it. The powder is divided in four sections; two shimmers and two mattes. To the naked eye, this compact looks like a nude/golden bronze which is what initially drew me to this shade. Once I started swatching it under natural sunlight, I saw a lot of warm tones surface which was a little disappointing for me. When I apply powder, foundation or bronzer that has too much warmth for my already sallow skin, I look tired and slightly orange. I prefer a neutral/rose undertone to balance the yellow and this powder turned very warm once I applied it. The formula is light and silky and the combination of textures is refreshing and ideal and really looks airbrushed and gorgeous on. Dior bronzers and powders are hardly disappointing and always innovative but the colors tend to sometimes lean towards the warm color spectrum.
Verdict? This powder is all about luxury and glamour if the shades work right for your skin tone. I will continue using this shade but with a cool-toned blusher to balance out the undertones. Have your tried anything from Dior summer 2016 Collection?
