By Terry is one of those lines that attracts people who love obscure, high end, high quality products and willing to pay for it. I happen to be one of thousands By Terry “cult” fans who is eager to see what the creator Ms. Terry Gunzberg has discovered or created. We all know the BB and CC creams have found a place on shelves in drugstores, department stores and our medicine cabinet so what could possiblly be next? How about a CC cream that contains “White Rose Native Cells” that helps repair the skin from underneath while lifting it, leaves a glow by brightening and comes in four shades that are targeted for multi-tasking? By Terry has just launched Cellularose Brightening CC-Lumi Serum (1.02 oz for $89) that comes in four shades:
No 1 Immaculate Light: This gives a “lift” to porcelain complexions, controls blotchiness and adds life to paler skin tones. Asian skins will like this if their objective is to tackle dark spots.
No 2 Rose Elixir: This shade is perfect for rosy skin tones that restores “flush” to dull complexions. Recommended for all skin types.
No 3 Apricot Glow: This is a universally flattering shade from fair to mixed race complexions. Plumps the skin and gives it a beautiful radiance.
No 4 Sunny Flash: This milky amber caramel shade is used to give that “first signs of summer” look or even out darker skin tones.
The photo above was taken from my Iphone and is not the best quality but the swatches on there are quite accurate and will give you a good idea of which shade is right for you. I naturally was attracted to shade “Sunny Flash, a gorgeous medium golden brown, since I am always opting for that “JLO glow” especially this winter when any kind of glow has been work and lots of effort.
I had high hopes for the Cellularose CC Lumi Serum and was ready to be slightly disappointed. Initially, I was channeling the Armani highlighters, which I absolutely love, but wanted to be fair and neutral which can be tricky when reviewing and testing out so many products. One pump was all that was needed to highlight my cheekbones and forehead . It was a thinner consistency than the Armani and not as pigmented. It should be blended by under a minute or it becomes slightly more difficult to move around which I feel is plenty of time. I thought the color blended into my skin beautifully, naturally and left a subtle but noticeable glow. I used it over my Armani LSF foundation and the two together sang beautifully. Did I notice my skin brighten, tighten and notice anything different? Not really, but then again I don’t buy color cosmetics with high hopes or expectations of anything dramatic happening other then does the color work for me and do I like the texture and quality? This product for me is perfect for what I want and need which is a natural, long lasting glow with no hints of orange, yellow or red. Sunny Flash is the perfect spot on golden brown and that alone is enough for me to be satisfied and impressed. The formula is ideal for all skin types which will attract many women and hopefully become one of their permanent items in the collection.
I put a look together to give you an idea of how I like wearing it. I mixed it with Armani LSF foundation to give a more dramatic effect, used Chanel Accent Blush on the apples of the cheeks and my eyes were smoked out with NARS Cordura duo shadow. I used a heavy end using Troy Suratts Smoky Eye Baton (Review HERE) and YSL volupte lipshine is Shade 1.
Verdict? I feel confident recommending this product because it really does have impressive ingredients that can only help your skin with four shades to suit most skin tones. I know want Abricot to use all over to even out my skin and use it under a mineral powder. If you collect liquid highlighters like I do and nervous about having a repeat product let me assure you this new Lumi-Serum holds its own and will not disappoint. Would love to hear what everyone else thinks about it.
