Beauty Gypsy here. I am a beauty junkie. I travel the world and find the products that I love, like, and hate. I know I may be one of the million beauty bloggers out there but I’m doing this because it is my passion. It is me. I have a couple of goals with this blog:
1. My goal is to find a product that will “transform my life and my looks” and then spread the word about it.
2. My second goal is to then find something that is even better than the original and convince everyone that I have found something else to get excited about. I love testing , researching and sharing my views and opinions to hep make it easier for women out there in deciding if the product is worth it or not.
You must be thinking…who am I to be recommending and rating products? I’m a woman of many talents and trades. Just a few things you need to know…
A little about me-I am currently a mother of two and live in Manhattan i.e. the capital of fashion and beauty. I grew up in Texas and at a young age was fascinated, even infatuated, with beauty. I always knew I would end up doing something in cosmetics, the obsession started at a very young age. I eventually moved to NYC and studied Fashion Merchandising and Marketing. I briefly interned and worked in a fashion PR for a design house and realized I actually enjoy shopping for clothes rather than promoting them. I was more interested in seeing how the models had their makeup done and what the product of the moment was.
I quickly knew it was time to move on and pursue my true love-cosmetics! I moved back to Texas and opened a cosmetic boutique that tried to mimic Barneys New York (but on a far smaller scale and with my own twist). I wanted to be the first to bring in obscure and hard to find lines and try to convince Texans to explore their options beyond department stores. I loved the challenge of showing customers new and unheard of lines and watching them get excited over it. I eventually created my own line of brushes, lip pencils, and lipsticks. I also became one of the first retailers that carried these lines and I shipped internationally. Between answering emails and customers in-store, I learned so much about beauty and what women are looking for when it comes to cosmetics.
It was the best experience and I knew I had the power to educate women and get them excited about beauty without making them feel intimidated or anxious. After four wonderful years, I had to make the hard decision to close down. I met my husband, got married, and moved to Japan where my husband was born and raised. There I was…exposed to beauty products on a different level. Just when I thought I saw it all and knew it all, the opportunity to experiment and play with some very interesting and exciting lines for skin, hair, and cosmetics came my way.
After being encouraged by my family and friends for a long time to start a blog-I finally feel that I can devote the time to share my excitement, experience, and knowledge with everyone. I visit many current beauty blogs and am very impressed with what all these women have brought to people out there. I hope I can only add to the already knowledgeable bloggers out there and make this a fun and informative blog site.
Now that we got that out of the way, let the fun begin…
