Amore Pacific Green Tea Seed Treatment Oil

Amore Pacific

I am currently using Ila oil (Check out my review for it here) which I love and keep well stocked. My loyalty was suddenly challenged while browsing the Sephora website during their 20% off promotion, and there I discovered Amore Pacific oil and so glad I did.  When I read the word “oil” I quickly clicked on and read the ingredients and why it cost $195.  My curiosity got the best of me and I hit “buy” and quickly checked out before I could changed my mind. The box came ten days ago and I haven't stopped using it since then. I absolutely ADORE this small and precious gold bottle filled with amazing ingredients and a lovely texture. I am very fussy when it comes to face oils so when I find something that agrees with my skin, I stock up and start telling whoever is willing to listen to me about why they need this particular oil. Let's take a look at how the company describes this product:

A highly concentrated Green Tea Seed Treatment Oil that works to completely renew your complexion and restores your skin to its youthful radiance.

Key Benefits :

-Restores vitality and resilience to dehydrated, dull skin.
-Renews the complexion leaving it soft, supple and luminous.
-Improves skin’s texture by reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
-Unique formula absorbs easily while softening and conditioning the skin.

Ingredients & Technology :

-Vitamin E, linoleic acid, polyphenols and catechins help fortify the natural lipid barrier of the skin to deeply hydrate, protect it from harmful stressors, and restore its natural luminosity
-Rich in Green Tea Omega Ceramide, the oil soothes the skin, improving skin cell regeneration, elasticity and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

*Apply 2-3 drops on cleansed skin on both face and neck before moisturizing, avoiding the eye area.

A little tip from me..apply it after you get out of the shower while the steam is still in the bathroom and your skin will love it, especially if you exfoliated. Then follow with either a day/evening moisturizer to complete a 'mini-facial” at home. I have done this for years and it really is one of my “little secrets” to feeling and looking younger. Nothing says “I take care of my skin” better than then a well exfoliated, well hydrated dewy, glowing skin. Take it from me, I have had a strict skin care regime for decades and this has been one of the best pieces of advice I can give. For being 44 years old and never getting injected (or not yet crossing fingers), I have slowed down the clock and buying as much time as I can and still fighting it. I am a true believer that patience is a virtue and pays off down the road. I don't look for “quick fixes” but more for slow pay offs and rewards. I listen to my skin and what it needs and is lacking but never go “overboard” on anything. It is all about balance and moderation and it has worked for me and clients I have advised.

Now back to my oil review (sorry got a little bit off tangent there), I think this oil is brilliant and quite different for many reasons yet it won't cater to everyone's needs. Here are my thoughts:

Pros:

-Not too oily and will cater to combination/ oily skins that need some hydration and moisture but not excessively oily
-Has a very unique texture that feels more like thick water but leaves a velvety finish (almost feels like a hydrating primer)
-Pleasant smell that won't overpower users with heavy fragrance

Cons:

-If your skin is more on the dry side this won't feel oily or hydrating enough but might work better for summer or warm weather
-It is limited editon so if you like it then stock up unless the company decides to make it a permanent addition in near future
-It's $195 for 0.67 oz..definitely not cheap- especially if you need to use more for drier skin

Verdict: I definitely like it but will continue using Ila oil for the drier/colder months and store this away for spring/summer/beach holidays. I personally have dehydrated skin that becomes dry during winter months and need a thicker/oilier consistency. I find I am having to use more drops then recommended (2-3 drops) to get the satisfaction my skin is looking for. If you can get a sample, then I highly recommend you do especially since the price is steep.

Amore Pacific can be purchased at Sephora, Bergdorf Goodman and Amorepacific.com. Retails for $195.

Happy hydrating 🙂
